Nice. Ive been wanting to do this mod too. The steering wheel is relatively cheap but I want to light up in white So I was thinking I should get an Escalade steering wheel.

I've got that same steering wheel! Is the interior in your vehicle black?

No. It's Cocoa. The brown leather matches the upper trim in my truck. It's just the lighting that makes it look darker.

This is a stock Denali with that steering wheel, same interior I now have...

Ah I see. The pic of the one u posted looks like black leather whereas the Denali interior looks more of cocoa. My steering wheel is black leather but I also have black leather seats... I guess they don't make a cashmere colored leather steering wheel?

Yeah, it's just the bad lighting in the cell phone pic...

No. It matches up to the top of the dash (brownish). Denali's are either like the pic I posted, or black.

So you'd have to change the "wood" trim out first in order to make this wheel match, right (which I know you've done)? Just thinking about future if I do a similar mod what else would need to be done to make it look right. :hmm: For a Chevy would also have to get a different "emblem" for the center of the wheel.

Correct. The wood on the steering wheel matches the Denali wood, not my regular Yukon wood. It won't match the Tahoe wood. I'm not sure if the LTZ ever came with a wood wheel. I don't know if the Tahoe wood is the same as the LTZ wood either.

For a Chevy would also have to get a different "emblem" for the center of the wheel.

You keep your current airbag and cover.

However, You can take your air bag out, then unbolt your airbag from the cover, and then bend the tabs on the emblem to get it off.

The Denali's have one that says "Denali" instead of "GMC". They don't make the emblem as a part, you have to buy it with the airbag. It's all 1 GM part number. However, they do sell them on eBay and I'm waiting for the guy to get me one.
