Our new (2011) Yukon came with the navigation package. It only has 2000 miles on it. It is fine but the radio/navigation makes noise when the car is parked and the ignition is off. I open the door and the disk drive (where the navigation disk is installed) keeps searching something like "a dog barking in the distance". It stops after awhile. Generally when the car is running you don't hear it. It sounds like it is searching for position for the GPS. I am afraid it will drain the battery. Has anyone else had that problem?

They all do it. It is reading from the disc but I don't know why. My wife even asked me about it. It starts when you open the door but like you said it stops after awhile. I don't think it is enough to drain the battery.

Ill take care of this...

Have you talked to your local dealer about this? Send Breanne your VIN number and she can look into this for you.

Mine does it too. I think that when you open the door, it starts to boot up the disk so that it's ready to go when you start the car.

GM Navigation Support, huh? The way the navigation system "operates", I expect they probably charge $49.95 for one email response . . . within twenty-four hours of initial contact. :Big Laugh:

There are more of us than you are aware of. I'm still waiting to hear back about my cracked dash.

I have the navigation sytem too. Whatever is doing it, it is a very faint noise that sounds like a small dog barking. It is so faint you can hardly hear it. It's actually in the "somewhat annoying" category.
