i have a 2007 tahoe ls without navigation and hate the look, use, and everything about aftermarket decks. I stick to factory decks and would like to put an oem navigation system in my tahoe. It does not have bose. I have heard that it will work fine plug and play, that i might need an external amp, that it wont work at all, that a dealer will just have to program it. I have heard them all. If anyone knows exactly what i need to do to make an oem nav work in my tahoe it would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

The dealer could definitely tell you what you need, and no matter what you do, they're gonna have to program it. You probably don't even have to go down there to ask, just give them a call when they're open and they could probably tell you. Depending on where you live, this might be a popular request.

i wish it was that easy haha.
we are good friends with the owner of the GMC dealership
but all of the chevrolet dealerships around here are either retarded or **********. Either way, they are no help whatsoever and pretty much just tell you no to whatever you ask about. It gets frustrating. I might call a dealership down south where i used to live and see if they are any better.

Just call the GMC dealer they should know. And yes you can get Nav without the Bose system.

yeah i agree with that. i wanted to see if that new cadillac escalade key fob would work on my tahoe after my mom got one for her ESV. service guy immediately said no, but since he knows my dad, he didn't mind "showing me it wouldn't work". after he tried, it worked just fine. :Handshake:

ya haha sounds like something that would happen to me.
I went in to the parts department today just to see if they had any idea what they were talking about as far as the nav system goes and they just were like no theres no way itll work. its so annoying haha.

yeah haha they need to actually learn about what they're selling. i wouldn't recommend buying one through the dealer though, they have insane prices on everything.
you know those pieces that are on the steering wheel that are shaped like ] and [, which are right next to the steering controls? I wanted aluminum ones for my Tahoe, parts guy said they were $80 a piece. It's crazy.

Dont listen to everything the stealership tells ya lol. To install in a non bose truck you will need an amp and bose adapter if you want decent sound.

haha believe it or not i know EXACTLY what you are talking about. Mine started to peel after a while and so i needed replacements. If you do decide to go with the new ones i may be interested in purchasing your old ones from you.

well i have an amp with a hi lo converter already running to subs in the back of my car. It is all done through an oem interface which is plug and play. Will i just need any amp to power the nav system or what is the process?
