I know I can use the 12 volt power acc in the center console, but was hoping for something easier.

By far the easiest and least intrusive is an add-a-circuit from the driver's side fuse box.

I’m hoping so. The challenge is to fine a switched circuit to use.

There are plenty down there to choose from. Also, I took out my 12v socket in the console and installed one of those ubiquitous little round 12v switches. Since that socket is switched, it was easy to repurpose. I kept the flip-down cap over the switch and use said switch to control my Uniden R3 radar detector mounted top left of windshield. Maybe that might be an option.

And depending on what you need the new circuit for, you can just throw a relay on it to provide adequate power for the gadget in question.

It was for my Redline 360C radar detector.

Got it. I used a switch on mine since I’m regularly in VA and occasionally have occasion to switch the unit off. Pic below, although I replaced the little pod it’s in because the spring broke.

If you don’t need the switch, I’d say just run it from a fuse tap on the drivers side fuse box and either method, run it up the a-pillar, being mindful of the airbags.

Good fortune with the install

Cool. I hardly ever travel in Va, but B I’m not worried, mine has C stealth technology and it’s not detectable by 5 O. I just have to be aware and remove it before they arrive at my window to take my order.
