I have decided that I am keeping mine unless it gets wrecked, there is simply nothing on these vehicles that is not easily and cheaply repaired and my wife loves it more every time she rides in someone else's newer one. 248,000 miles and this Yukon Xl still feels like a new car driving down the road.

In fact I have decided the same thing with my 2005 Sierra Crew Cab Duramax, I just cannot imagine liking anything else more so I will just fix it when it needs something and keep it as well.

I'm keeping my 07, until I no longer trust it to get me where I need to go, when I need to go. For me, my trust that the truck will consistently perform its job when I need it to, is the main decision factor on keep versus replace.

As folks above have mentioned, to replace your truck with a new truck is a major investment these days, and combine that monthly finance payment with the increased auto insurance policy cost (and registration costs in NH, based on both vehicle weight and new purchase price), you have a very significant monthly payment to cover, and these payments come due each month, both in both good times and bad times.

To keep your truck, you need to be able to cover those repair/replacement costs that inevitably come due, sometimes without much warning. I put a small amount of money away each month in a separate savings account, intended exclusively for use on truck repairs/replacements. This way, when a repair/replacement item pops up unexpectedly, I do not have to worry about where I am going to come up with that lump sum of money to cover the repair/replacement. I sleep much better that way.

I wish you the best of outcomes on your decision.

Everyone has made great points! Yes, they do have a lot of cool new technology but another thing to consider if you haven't driven any of the other models is how the ride and vision compares to the old nbs. I'll be honest, we have a nnbs model at work and I would 10 times rather drive my nbs. It isn't as comfortable and I can't see out of it as good (I'm 6'2" so not a small guy). I haven't drove any of the newest models but I won't be dropping 60k+ anytime soon on a vehicle regardless...

This is the reason I asked the question
Perfect answer. I will be keeping this ride for a little while longer.
Thanks everyone.

Keep it!!! Mine has 282,000 miles in it and just did $1400 worth of work to it. I bought it from my parents three years ago and they bought it new so I know the history on it. I’m riding this thing for a long time
