Hi folk, so I placed ordered with Cali Chevy dealer since 12/06/21 for 22 suburban LT, diesel, luxury pkg, and GM hasn’t even pick up yet. I talked to one Maryland dealer (Sport Chevrolet) that they can place another order for me that might come sooner than my current order. But requires $1000 refundable deposit. Should I place another order? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I placed two identical custom orders in late January for a Yukon Denali Diesel. One just showed up at one of the dealers - picking it up tomorrow or Friday. The other order is still sitting at 1100 at another dealer…

So placing two separate orders with separate dealers worked our for me.

@Will2022 does the Maryland dealer have an open allocation, or just talking an order for you? Huge difference... might want to ask how many people are on the waiting list before giving the deposit (refundable or not)

How do we know dealers tell us the truth regarding the Allocation and waiting list? Can we ask to see a proof?

They won't show proof, but hopefully they are somewhat willing to give a ballpark number for their waiting list. Allocations are week to week and item specific.

End of the day, it's a dealership, so you gotta expect some BS with their answer.

similar experience as the other poster…Placed orders at two different dealerships…one was built Monday and the other is still waiting to be accepted.

the one that still hasn’t been accepted I actually ordered an AT4 the first of December before I knew how GMs process worked and included the RSE on it..that order will never get built unless they convert it to a 2023 or 2024…placed an order for a Z71 Tahoe in Jan and still at 1100…if I was ordering today, I’d order at a minimum of two dealers unless they could show me on paper that they had an allocation for my trim level

You’ll have to get your hands on your event code. This isn’t easy to do, as GM/Chevy Chat is not always willing to provide this information no matter how many times you ask them. It will be on your GM WorkBench order, which is what the dealer has access to and can send you. But again, they don’t necessarily have to.

From my understanding there are 2 event codes once the order is entered into the system by the dealer.

Event Code 1000 - which means the order was entered at the dealership but is in on hold. This means they don’t have an allocation for your car yet so they never submitted your order to GM.

Event Code 1100 - this means the order was entered and submitted by the dealership to GM and you’re waiting for GM to accept the order. Once they accept the order, you would move you to Event Code 2000.

HAPPY HUNTING!

Question. My dealer finally had an allocation and submitted the order to GM 4/22. I talked with Chevy chat and she’s my order is at 1100 but when “she goes into the Oder it shows the event code at 2050”. Since it’s past the event code 2000 does that mean it’s been accepted by GM? I did confirm that they will stop taking orders for the 2022 this week and start accepting 2023 orders in May so I really have my fingers crossed it gets picked up this week if it hasn’t already
