ground the battery to the chassis (i did) and you need to ground your engine block (follow both wires coming from the positive side on the battery, one will lead right around the bottom of the alternator, that's your engine block

i agree put the ground wire for your battery to the chassis and leave the intake manifold ground in place. i know you already chose your speakers but i would take a look at pioneer speaker's their coaxial speaker's sound good ran off radio power but they will also sound great with a nice 4 channel amp.by the way good job on the 0 gauge, let me know how you run it to the back of th truck.im debating maybe to run it under the truck since 0 gauge is a pita to run under carpet.i know im a newb to the forum but not to car stereo and alarms.

Thanks guys. Is there any benefit to upgrading the ground from the body to the chassis? I would assume this is not necessary because the amp will be grounded directly to the chassis but I figured I'd ask because I might have some extra wire. And drod1977, I'm not running the 0 gauge to the amp, just for the big 3. I'm using 4 gauge for the amp since it's only 500 watts. But even with the 4 gauge I was thinking I would run it under the truck as well, I'll let you know how I do it.

feeding your amp is negative power is different that feeding your engine block negative power, ive seen small differences in my voltage, its worth it, don't half ass it

I think I'm a little confused about the big 3 upgrade. I thought I understood it but I just want to make sure I'm on the same page. The first wire I'm adding to is the battery positive to the alternator output, no confusion there. The second wire I'm adding goes from the battery negative and is grounded to the frame, leaving the stock ground which goes from the negative terminal to the engine. The last wire is the one I'm confused about. I see two grounds coming off of the frame, one goes to the firewall and the other to the engine block. Which one of these is the one I'm replacing? Sorry for being so redundant but that wire is expensive so I don't want to mess this up.

Thanks for the recommendation. I hadn't really looked at the Infinity Kappas but I have heard really good things about them. And they seem to be about the same price as the BA speakers I was looking at so I'm giving these speakers serious consideration.

Quick question about the big 3 upgrade guys. Is a fuse necessary from the alternator to battery positive? I have heard differing opinions on this.
