Ok, Im trying to hook up the vapor canister. It was unhooked when I got the truck. The fitting saying air cleaner has me stumped. THere is no where on the air cleaner assy to hook it up at. Granted I just got the assy from the junkyard so it might not be right for my truck. Where would they normally connect to the airbox at?

The control unit here has a vaccum hose attachment on it but no hose. Where does it go?

Hmm, mine canister is different. It looks like they put a 90 degree connector on your purge solenoid. Thats what it plugs into. Hope this helps.

This is a shot of my old canister

the purge hose goes across and plugs into the purge solenoid/valve or whatever its called. the one with the light blue clip

Ok, so the one on the back of my solenoid is going to the purge spot on my canister. The air cleaner one then gos to that 90 on the solenoid? Thanks

Thanks Sun. THis bring up 2 questions then. Can I just use this one and leave it open to vent and, which place on the solenoid does the line connect to? the side where it shows open in my pic, or the front where it is currently connected?

The line connected to the front is connected to the purge on the canister

dude, just connect the TO CARB line to that Open 90 on the solenoid and your all good..

Stop over complicating this..
The system simple sucks the vapors from your tank into the manifold under certain conditions for increased mpg and lower vehicular emmisions

unknown at this time.
That open 90 must stay open but point it down a little to make sure debris does not stay in it. Should be where it is currently connected but I would have to compare your routing with mine to see if it is doable. Here is another system diagram. With both of these two diagrams together you should be able to ensure proper routing.

Kinda to cold and dark to get pics and make a story book right now.
