Need front drive shaft help

My front drive shaft is now too long after replacing my transmission. the driveshaft on my old for was adjustable but i cant get this one to move? it needs to shrink like and inch? anyone?

You should be able to have one custom made or maybe have the existing one shorted at a shop.

Will they charge for shortening? and shouldnt it be adjustable?

Unless you own the shop they likely will. It will involve labor.

I don't know. I'm not a mechanic; I always thought they were a fixed length!

I would agree neither shaft should be a fixed length either.
It should shrink and lengthen.
Put in one solid shaft and your going to break something.

What trans did you pull, what did you put in?
What did the new driveshaft come out of?
