I’m sorry if already been posted…. My 2007 Yukon will not go into park at all, I had to shut it off and put emergency brake on.
When I got out there was fluid running everywhere and dripping from behind the engine
Could this be transmission?
Thanks

Since there is normally no clear fluid in a post-1980 car (except possibly brake fluid), you are not getting a good look at the mess under your car. If possible, get a white paper towel or sheet of copy paper, and put a dab of the fluid on it. If the fluid is sitting on asphalt, do not dip all the way into the bottom of the pool. I don't think anyone here can help if you do not ID the color of the fluid.

If, after doing this, you still say it is clear, and there is a lot of it, you will need to get it to a shop and have them check it out. The inability to put it into park screams "transmission!", which fluid would be somewhere between pink/red, or reddish brown. Good luck, and please let us know what you find out.

Hey man don't worry about the fluid unless it's pink or or if it's transmission fluid that's burned it'll smell and will be black. Would it more than likely is is the cable that goes on to your Prindle gear of the transmission which is on the left side driver side more than likely has popped out due to a cheap plastic retainer that GM uses on these Transmissions. To get the thing and park simply put the cable back in place and then turn your car to key on engine off, or just turn it on and put it in park. This has happened to my 2016 work van as well as my 2011 Chevy Tahoe. Rather than pay the dealer for a new cable which has the retainer I simply went to the hardware store and sized up the right axle nut and used it instead. It has not come off as it is made out of metal and has a one-way design it has to be pried off. Even the auto shop that replaced my transmission reused it rather than by the new cable as the plastic on the retainer gets brittle over time and breaks on every single vehicle that uses this retainer

That doesn't sound like transmission fluid, which should be reddish in color. But, it doesn't sound like coolant either, as that should have an orange color.

Unless the coolant was severely diluted with plain water.
