Hey everyone,
I recently picked up a 2002 Yukon XL and I’m running into an issue with the factory radio. It has power, I can set the clock, insert and eject CDs but it won’t actually turn on or play anything. No sound from the CD or radio.

I’ve checked the basics, but I’m out of ideas at this point. Has anyone else run into this? Is there something specific I should be testing, or is it time to throw in the towel and go aftermarket?

Appreciate any advice or insight!

Check the fuse? But guess if the Radio powers On/Off the fuse should be good.. I just know of the one right to the left of the steering wheel where that panel pops off.

Could be bad wiring somewhere, would be strange if you all your speakers were dead but honestly would not surprising since I just had 3 out of 4 dead and just replaced 2. Putting the 2 new ones in the front doors and the 1 that worked in the rear pass-door for now.

Strange regarding the CDs, assume the same for the radio and idk if you have a tape player in that model.

Also read this post where someone resolved their issue but not sure if anything would be similar.

Mine quit working based on how hot it was inside the truck and finally quit period. I replaced amp below console no change. Gave up. I decided not to go aftermarket as it is tied into security system, door chimes etc and a 2003 SLT with 226K on it, not worth it. I listen to radio on my Smartphone if I need radio.
