As of right now i have an engine code of p0420 and need to know what i need to drop or replace on my Tahoe i live in wyoming so no emissions what so ever yay.

Next when i take it over 65-80 it jumps up in water temp clear past the 210 mark then once its back to 50 its fine.

Was also wondering if i could swap out the chassis for a 08-10 yukon can pick one up that has damage or if it would be just better to go with engine trans and rear end

420 is usually your cat converter wearing out. Specifically the left engine converter.

Like how far past the 210 mark.

Did not quite get that 3 question.

Sweet thanks for the first part on the temp it goes about 3/4 the way up usually it runs way under so about a 1/4 of the temp gauge on the third was wondering if it would be best to just swap engine trans and rear end from a 08-09 Denali or if I can swap the chassis completely

So the best thing I can do for the cel would be to smash the cat out we don't have emission testing here so you can get away with it but I know it's still not legal if I move to some place with emission testing

I would look into a realy dirty cooling system are a malfunctioning thermostat. as for the cats you will get that code until the computer "see's" a clean constant signal from O2 sensor.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

I wouldn't just remove the cats unless you have the ability to tune, etc to get rid of the need for the information from the o2 sensors for the engine to run properly. You may wind up with more problems.

Start with flushing your cooling system and getting some fresh coolant in there and see if the issue persists.
