So iHave A 95 Tahoe LS. Recently Purchased It Last Month. Since Then I've Noticed A Coolant and Oil Leak. I Kno Where The Oil Leak Is Coming From But I Can't Point Out Where The Coolant Is Dripping From. I Notice Its Dripping Over Top Of The Starter But Can't See Where It Exactly Is. If Anybody Have Had This Problem It Would Be A Blessing If You Can Help.

Two culprits come to mind. First is that coolant line quick connection on the corner of the intake manifold which I think is near the firewall on the passenger side on your truck. Later models like my 98 are up front. Second is the lower intake manifold gaskets. I've heard sometimes they leak internally and sometimes they leak externally. I've had both of these leaks before. Hell, I've also had a cracked inline heater valve and cracked plastic sidewall tanks on the radiator. Good luck.

The quick connect heater lines are notorious for leaking where the fitting and hose come together. Be careful removing it if you're replacing it - it's made of pot metal and will fall apart in the intake. I'd recommend using a steel nipple for replacement. If the hose itself is in good condition, cut the fitting off and use the hose on the new nipple.

The 95 and older intake gaskets aren't as prone to leaking as the vortec motor gasket were. Partially due to the green coolant specified for the TBI motor and partially due to the gasket design (they changed the gasket with the vortec motor as well as Dex-Cool being specified for 96+ - Dex-Cool was/is corrosive to the gaskets which would crush and leak). There was a gasket redesign to correct this issue (plastic/metal inserts around the bolt holes to prevent crushing).

You can rent a cooling system pressure test kit from a parts store. That will help you spot the leak fairly quickly.
