Need help finding something

I'm about ready to install my subs and amp, but first I want to buy one of those things... I don't know what they're called so I will just have describe it. The thing I'm looking for is a cable that controls the amp volume but can be mounted anywhere in the car. I would search for it on google but I don't even know the name. please help!

some (ours) come with the remote gain already in them, ready to plug and go.
