My Tahoe is Dead in the water and, after all of this Stabilitrak scare I am reading, it may be dead to me along with Chevy after this one.

It all started a few months ago when the battery would just randomly die. If I jumped it off it would be just fine immediately. To fix this issue i bought a big boy optima battery and that magically stopped the problem. So i just assumed it was the battery. (i put this in because i have seen this tied with stabilitrak)

This weekend we went out of town. My wifes Tahoe sat for 3 days. When we went to start it tonight it was running VERY rough, almost like it was in guard mode (protect mode, whatever it is called). At the same time the Check engine light is flashing and "Check Right Rear tire Pressure" and "Service Stabilitrak" warnings are coming on. The car would go into gear but was running very rough and would barely move, almost like it was missing badly. I put it in park, turned it off and back on. Not to my surprise the same warnings cycled, but then "Service Charging System" came on.

Right now the Tahoe is Sitting and we have tried to restart it several times with the same problems. If anyone can help me out I would be greatly appreciate the help.

aggierichie,

Would you please provide the last 8-digits of your VIN, so I may look into this further for you? Have you had the vehicle inspected for this issue yet?

Sounds like you are having the battery discharge issue. There is a TSB out for this and a reprogram can be done by the dealer and have the battery checked again. Also have the alternator checked.

Did you buy this used?

Sounds a little different than the Stabilitrak issues I've been having, cause I've not had battery issues. Something that has gotten me out of some Stabilitrak jams is pulling the "IPC" fuse, should be fuse #46 from under the hood. Sometimes just reseating the fuse will clear the issue. You will get the service charging system message doing this, but it should run and that message will clear eventually. I've also run the vehicle without the fuse which kills all the gauges on the dash, but it runs better.
