good thing you asked instead of just trying to rip it out, that wouldn't have been pretty, the metal on these trucks is so thin now a small tap on it and it dents.this. I didn’t even know what a rivet was until I ran i to this. They come off very easy with a drill, literally 5 seconds of drilling
lol I don’t know if I would call it dedication but finally got it done lolYep.... definitely getting it wrapped should I ever go this route lol.
Look great man and the dedication was strong on this project.
I have pics for anyone trying to do it, I might do a write up. For lower pieces there are two crews on each side and they pop right off. Not a difficult project once you get over the drilling part of these rivetsHow were the other trim pieces attached, any challenges.
Incidentally, since you also swapped out your grille and other front chrome pieces, are you able to give me a sense of how the fog light surround/J-shaped trim pieces come out? I have black replacement pieces that I'd like to install in place of the chrome ones, and I can see the tabs on the back of the new pieces... But I don't know whether there are tabs that just need to be pushed back from the trim pieces, or whether there are some kind of retaining clips that need to be removed from the back of the trim in order to release them.Dropped the headliner and replaced the roof rails. While I had the headliner out I also ran wires for front/rear dash cams and installed minimal starlights in headliner. Painted the calipers red and this weekend ceramic coating it
All good. Any info like this is helpful.hey man - I didn’t care about breaking the old one so I just pulled them out and broke a bunch of tabs lol.
