Why do you want to change your tstat anyways? Add no performance gains.

That is an apples to oranges comparison. Can't assume a mod for the srt8 will yield the same for your SUV.

The big debate with our trucks is the thermostat. BlackBear (and I agree with them) is trying to say that your trucks perfect operating temp is exactly what thermostat came in your truck. Trying to lower that will not help in any way.

Now other engines and other manufacturers aren't being discussed, because there are many other reasons for a different type of engine to have it.

A higher temp is needed to burn off the condensation in the oil.

Not enough condensation and you become alkali. Dont want the acidic and alkali oil to mix, will be like putting mentos in a coke bottle!! Watch out science fair!!
