Need help with fittings....

Im trying to hook up small cans of R134 to my guage set, I ordered a valve thats supposed to screw on the cans and hookup but it will not screw into my hose. I think they call they the thread on the can an acme thread but even that im not sure.... I tried home depot trying to use fittings to make it work but NG. Where can I find another valve local? What type of store/shop would I need??

It won't work the gauge set could not puncture the seal to let the freon out and the fitting is not correct. you need a device like this that lets you do that.

You can find them all over online maybe even an local auto parts store. This is the way to do it.

Dang, what do you do with that green clamp thing? Do you clamp on the side of the can and puncture it???

I wonder how many times that thing probably doesnt work properly and 15 dollar cans of freon get sprayed in your face! lol

I think I like my way better.

for two different hose connection options and the device works great actually. sold mine but must have run dozens of cans through it.

So I assume there are check valves in the fittings? I thought one is for the discharge hose and one maybe a bleeder??
