I’m trying to install a GM/Kicker ssutayu15 subwoofer in my 2016 Tahoe LTZ. The instructions say to make a cut in the plug for the power wire. It implies that there is a pass through or port. All I see is a wiring harness. I’m hesitant to poke around tomuch, lest I poke something that shouldn’tbe poked. Any help is greatly appreciated.D9E2581A-E17D-4F31-AFB7-8E90DDE5E685.jpeg

That thing is basically just a grommet for all the wires in the engine bay to pass through into the cab. If you cut the nipple off you'll be able to run your wires through. It's a pain in the ass if you haven't done it before.

All done and thanks for the input! I went through the big grommet on the drivers firewall. What was giving me trouble was that there is a second wall to go through. The Kicker instructions make it sound like a small cut and you're done. If you push hard enough from the underhood side, the second flap will push open to access the interior. So, just like others have said- the sub wasn't earth moving bass, but it added the missing element. Thanks again guys.

Did you have the Bose system or non-Bose system in your LTZ? Trying to figure out if it does or does not work with Bose factory system.

I have the Bose. After the headache from fishing the wire through that big grommet, it was all straight forward on the install. When I say “straight forward,” I mean as a matter of sticking with the instructions. It requires more interior panels to be removed than I would’ve thought, but I think it was worth it.

So with the Bose system you notice an improvement with it? Looks like they made 2 different versions. One not Bose compatible and one that is. I found the instructions on kickers site. https://www.kicker.com/product-manuals

The increase in bass wasn’t spectacular. But it did fill in the lack from the oem Bose. It won’t thump like a pair of 12’s and a big amp, but it sounds better. I think it makes the greatest difference when watching DVDs. Polar Express (w/Tom Hanks) sounds like the train was chasing us.
