Hello Guys,

I have a problem that i cant seem to find out what the problem is....

My brake light on the dash comes on every time i step on the brakes... I have changed out the master cylinder, bleed the brakes changed out, the fluids... only thing i haven't done is the booster... light stays on unless i tap on the brake and it will go off but then comes back on when i brake again...

Any suggestion is appreciated... its bugging the hell out of me!

Thanks!!!!!

Does it matter if you are moving or already at a stop? Or does it come on every time you touch the brake pedal?

Once the light comes on, you say tapping the brakes makes it turn off?

If the brakes are working fine, it almost sounds as if the switch on the brake pedal to turn off the cruise control is malfunctioning, but I have never had one turn on the brake light on the dash...

There is a possibility you have an ABS sensor going out as well. I dont believe the brake booster will trigger the dash light to come on.

Mine was doing something alone those lines. It was a Wheel Cylinder that had busted on one side.
on another note. Just replaced the Master Cylinder and bled the entire system and I don't have a nice solid pedal.
Any thoughts?

Grey- run enough brake fluid through your lines to completely replace your brake fluid with fluid from a new, sealed jug. Big mess. :) Start there.

Just replace the brake pedal switch and its not that either... going to see if i can try to clean the sensor in the front to see if that is the case.. if not the next step is to change the sensors.. but F@#$% $150 a piece!!!!!

I've done the ceremonial bleeding of the brakes with at least 2 quarts of fluid(new canisters 4 for $12 dot 3/4).
Used a power bleeder that forces fluid through the system from the master. and bleed till the fluid ran clear.
About 3-6 inches from the floor.
Drove buddies suburban and its a completely different pedal.
