I bought drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads from Freedom Motorsports in October 2012, and while they work ok, in my opinion they don't work quite as well as the factory components that came on the truck. If I were doing it again, I'd order OEM replacements from Rock Auto, O'Reilly, etc.

Really? My experience has been the EXACT opposite and I've had the setup sold by Freedom Motorsports on about 4 different vehicles now.

Yes. It was most notable at low speed, such as driving in a parking lot. The OEM brakes would grab immediately, but the FM stuff isn't as grippy. At speed it seems to work ok, but ultimately I think I need the additional surface area of a flat rotor more than I need the heat dissipation attributes of drilled/slotted.

Drilled and slotted is great for a track car. It's a waste for these vehicles, in fact I'd even go so far to say it's detrimental, more dust and noise, less surface area. Get GOOD blanks and pads and upgrade to the 07 front calipers and rotors.

I have less dust than the oem setup and zero noise, The only thing i got was much better braking.

I've got the Powerstop K2015 on mine and they work great. I've had slotted/ported discs before for years and had no issues and very minimal brake dust. No complaints here.

i just installed the powerstop drilled and slotted kit front and rear on mine with the tow pads and have zero complaints. no noise and so far no dust but will see when the summer wheels go on. would like to know what lines to use also heard some mixed reviews about some not fitting correct

I got the kit from Russell. The 5th line (from the body down to the center of the rear axle) was a pain to install because my spare tire wouldn't drop so I had a hard time getting to it. They fit fine and came with everything I needed. I hope you have access to a lift where you can remove the tires and still have someone get in the driver's seat for when you bleed the brakes and also add fluid while doing so. It's better to never let the ABS pump go dry.
After you do the lines, flush the power steering fluid if you've got hydroboost. It made the brake upgrade and the lines work even better after I did that.

okay i actually need new brakes also the tabs in the back are squeeling on the rotors

i would like to get larger rotors i have 20 inch rims is this possible or am i also going to need new calipers

You'll need the bigger calipers and brackets if you upsize the rotors. I got all the stuff from an 07 and up from the parts store and a rotor and pad kit from power stop for an 07 as well. My 17 inch wheels clear but only just. You'll be fine with 20's.

i just orderd 26inch tahoe ltz replicas SUPER EXICTED. so now i need to upgrade the brakes what should i go with besides a big brake kit cause im not spending 4-5gs on brakes lmao please chime in i need suggestions ????
