Need picture of interior roof with headliner removed

I need to see exactly whats behind the headliner before I go and remove it.

I have a 2005 Yukon Denali XL with sunroof and factory dvd player.

I have something sliding around up there and want to get an idea of what it is before I start. Also want to see if maybe I can just remove the dvd player to get access to it.

I'd imagine a clip broke off and is the problem

It's bigger then a clip. From the sound it's 2x6 maybe.
Do you know if the sunroof shade is supposed to open with the sunroof? I might be part of that track.
The sunroof does open but I hear a strange sound when it hits its full open position.

My sunroof shade opens up when I open my sunroof. It is 2001. Hope this helps. I don't have a pic of the roof without the headliner.

Yes the sunroof cover is supposed to open with the sunroof. The sound you are hearing, is it metallic? Does your sunroof leak at the back? Is the gutter rail that's supposed to go under the back seal of the sunroof there? That is what also opens the cover when you open the roof. Mine was broken when I got my denali, I just started poking around, took it apart and rigged a fix for it.

The sunroof does not leak.
I'm not sure about a gutter rail.

There is nothing attached to the shade. When it is closed I can feel the back of the shade and I don't feel and clips or anything .

I have this same problem. It sounds like a cookie sheet or something rattling around up there. One of these days I'll get to it....I hope.

Let me know what you find out. Mines getting worse. Almost to the point I am thinking of removing the headliner to find the problem.
