My new Tahoe is soon to be here, British Columbia, and as we have crappy weather and crappier road conditions, with salt and sand ...... sometimes..... ( I know, I used to be the guy who put it on the roads...) I am seriously thinking of doing a ceramic coating on the new paint, probably the best time to do it, right?? I have spent the last week researching this, and man there is a lot of stuff out there, pro and con, and a multitude of products..... my truck is a daily driver , or will be, not a bush wacker ever, and I try to really take care of my rides, as they are so expensive, I can't afford not to....... so the question is.... have you guys done the ceramic coating, and what product did you use..... I have a professional detail guy who will put it on, so that's not an issue, BUT economics are..... I don't really want to spend $400 + for a product that won't last, but on the other hand not something that is $12 and will screw the paint...... any recommendations or point me in some sort of direction, would sure be helpful....... I am very curious as to what you guys have done......

My .02?

If you’re really worried get the vehicle wrapped. I got xpel ultimate on the entire truck except the doors (above beltline). Ceramics won’t stop scratches from sanders blowing by you or from rock chips on your hood. It’s expensive but it will save you from annual ceramic ‘refreshes’ etc. pull it off in 5 years if you want and you have a factory fresh, untouched,
Paint job underneath.

Both the xpel and ceramic coats are good options. The ceramic coats are more budget friendly as opposed the xpel. The ceramic coats will last a year, maybe 2 if you go with a higher end product. The xpel will last a lot longer.
