In the morning when its cold out i start my engine there is a small ticking sound. It only last for a bit usually a minute or two then goes away. I believe that it is just the oil being thick due to the cold and it slowly gets pumped in the engine after a few.

Is this true

From what I've read, this is normal, at least that's what GM says. Many have this same issue including myself. Some say you can fix this by replacing the oil pick up tube o ring which requires dropping the oil pan. Just let it warm up before you drive off and you should be fine.
