Uh oh, the hoe won't start. It turns and turns...sounds like when you try to start it when you're outta gas so my money is on a fuel problem of some sort. Either a bad fuel pump or fuel filter. The thing is it's happened before and I eventually got it started and it ran fine the whole week. Wouldn't a bad fuel pump not let it work at all? I'm going to try the filter first and if that doesn't do it I'll have to do the pump. The questions i have are, what's the difference between the $80 pump and the $200 pump? I saw that one was for the 2 door and one was for the 4 door. Is that accurate? How hard is it to replace one?

unknown at this time.
either manufacturer or one may be the pump alone and the other maybe the whole pump assembly. 2&4 are quite are different. Being a 2door you should have it easy since I think your tank is where a spare tire would normally go. Try something first . Get a helper and stand over your engine. Have helper turn ignition on but do not start. If you here fluid rushing thru the injection body your pump and filter are probably good. Technically you can still run on 40 out of 60-65 psi if pump, filter or regulator is off.but power would drop off when accelerator is used.

They're both dephi pumps and look to include everything, it's just that one says that the application is for 2 door and one is for 4 door. I'm curious about what the differences in the pumps could be and how the number of doors matters.

The 80$ pump will be just the electric pump alone.
The 200$ pump will be the entire assembly, hanger and float, etc...

The pump itself is the same for both the 2door and 4 door. heck its the same one thats in S-10's, camero's, etc...

When you pull out the hanger assembly, take a real close look at the reostat, its the brass thing that the pump arm rubs against. If it has ANY burn or discolored marks on it, replace it now while youhave the tankout.

My S-10 had a prblem where below a 1/4 tank the guage needle would fly all over the place, come to find out. my reostat on the hanger was burnt! literaly ARC'ing inside the tank every time I would go below a 1/4 tank. Im just glad it never exploded!
