I have a 2004 AWD Yukon XL. I have within the past month been experiencing the "traction active" problems where my Yukon will fall on its face after taking off from a stop.

I did do some research on this site before this post, and the most common error was faulty wheel speed sensors. This past weekend I replaced both front sensors. Driving to work this morning - it happened again. Needless to say my blood pressure went up drastically.

What are my next steps? And other parts that would cause this? After doing research this morning, a lot of people are stating the area where the speed sensor sits needs cleaned really well; I did not do that. My confusion with that step is that the sensor itself is plastic, so what would cleaning the surface do? Now mind you, I didn't set the thing down on rocks or mud, I just didn't grind it down to bare metal like some people are talking about.

Next issue (yes there are more, and I now hate AWD), is that the other day coming home from the Ozarks, indicator light went to the neutral red spot. When I pushed the button to go back into AWD, it just blinked. ??????

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Bryan
