Yall helped me diagnose a bad fuel pressure regulator recently, could use your help again.I have changed the regulator, pump, o2 sensors, and im still getting lean codes bank 1 and 2. I cant find any vacume leaks. Sprayed carb cleaner around suspect spots to see if engine rpm would speed up indicating a vac leak. no change. did same with a propane test method. no change. a little further anomolly. when i first start the hoe and put it in gear and push the accelorator it bogs down briefly, corrects fairly quickly then no more problems rest of time running. next time i start it , it may or may not repeat the same. things i have noticed which may or may not have bearing. Fuel pressure rises up to 55 when i turn key to on position for about 5 seconds then starts to drop fairly quickly. shouldnt the pressure hold steady at 55 , and is that a bit low? could the regulator i installed be defective? im running out of ideas. my parts guy says i should replace the intake gaskets cause they are known to go bad on vortecs. If it helps when i put the scanner on it retrieves stft of +7 to 10% and ltft of+25%. im confused and over my head. any help or advise will be welcome.

that drop in fuel pressure points to a bad regulator... and while your trying to figure this out it wouldnt hurt to pick up some MAF cleaner and give it a good cleaning

the only real problem with that is regulators only a month old. i cleaned the maf about a week ago. could the housing that the regulator is attached to be likely to crack or something.

Couple of things I'll throw out there

The lines in the tank going to the pump could be leaking, that would explain the pressure drop and lean codes

Leaking or stuck injector(s), pressure would drop off and cause a bog situation due to raw fuel being dumped in the cylinder(s) ie flooding It doesnt explain the lean codes though unless the 02 sensors are picking this up and telling the PCM it's running rich and it's pulling fuel, then adding, then pulling, pretty much going back and forth

The fuel pressure regulator was bad out of the box, bypassing to much fuel back to the tank, explains the pressure drop and lean codes since it cant supply enough fuel to the injectors
