I am to the point on my 2005 Tahoe that I want to do something about the headlights. I have always heard that the HIDS and the Depo headlights were the way to go, but the fitment and "foosballs" comment make me wonder. I am fine if someone could explain it, but I am just unsure what is bad about them?

I have also thought about swapping to LED bulbs instead. Is this something to look into or do the factory housing not work well with the LEDS?

No issues with my depos but it is a Yukon, no bouncing. I believe you can swap the housing/bracket off your factory ones if you're worried about them bouncing. Or use the ping pong ball. Mine are regular halogen and they are much better than stock

Most go with the depo projectors with hids in them and then hids in the fog housing. I have hids in my lows and fogs but thinking about using those light bars in the stock location.

I'm jumping on this thread as well. I want to maybe upgrade my lights to LED. I have not seen anyone post great reviews about upgrading to LED headlights on the 00-06 Tahoe's and Suburbans. I know the bracket sits pretty close to the back of the headlight on these lights, so not many of these new LED bulbs with the huge heat sinks will fit. I'd love to see someone successfully upgrade the OEM headlights without cutting the brackets. I currently have HIDs, and I've had them on there since 2009. But I'm getting tired of the flickering, and sometimes they take a while to fully ignite. If I can get LEDs about the same brightness and not have to deal with the igniting issues, that would be great!!

I went from hid's to led's. Difference is unbelievable! WP_20160117_020.jpgHard to tell, these are hid's. Unfortunately I don't have a night shot. Couldn't really see great at night. The distance wasn't great.

Led's. Much cleaner, whiter, and the light shoots farther at night. I'll never go back to hid's again.

I used these. Has the flexible, wire type heat sinks. One side, forgot which now, you had to unscrew the back plate behind the headlight housing to get the light in. Not a big deal. Def no cutting tho. Other side just popped right in.

Those look awesome on there!!
If its not too much trouble, when you get a chance, would you mind popping out one of your headlights and snapping a pic of the back of it with the LED bulb installed? I'm just trying to picture how it will sit with that heat sink. Thanks man. I'm seriously considering these now. I've heard that the ones with aluminum finned heat sinks were the best, but I really don't think those would fit on a 00-06 Tahoe/Burban headlight.
