I did have them balanced, but they were not road forced balanced. They are used but in great condition. No curve marks or scratches. A bent wheel is a possiblility, but I don't think it's the problem in my case.

Ask the shop that did the balancing to recheck them. Just tell them you got a vibration immediately after putting them on. I am not saying it is their fault, but it seems as if they made a mistake, one of the weights flew off right after install, or something is wrong with one or more of the wheels. Hopefully not the latter.

Good luck, I hope it's as simple as another balance job.

I wanted to add one more thing to this post. Since installing the wheels it seems like the truck is all over the road. Could the wider wheels be causing this? Almost like I need some sort of steering stabilizer.

Hey,
I've got 24" rims on my Yukon and have had the same problem. It seems that it has a mind of its own sometimes. I'll be driving and the slightest bump will throw me into the other lane. Plus the ride was starting to get annoying. I took it to a GM dealer and all they said was that the only way to fix it was to go back to stock. Lol right... So I went to my wheel place about a month ago and had them rebalenced, rotated, and the front realigned. Now I understand that this didn't have much of an impact for you, but it did a little for me. But I still wanted it fixed to my liking. They recommended new shocks and a steering stabilizer. I went with Rancho XL shocks with My Ride and a stabilizer. I am hoping to have them put on this weekend and that it will make a difference! I can't wait! I'd recommend possibly starting with a steering stabilizer and see if that helps. It will absorb the bumps that cause the wheels to go where ever on the road. Hope this helps!

I ran 22's for a month with 305/40's the ride was as if I was driving a 1940's car the truck grabbed every groove in the road it was so bad. that's why I went to the 20's

Looks good! Like said before, go back to the shop and have them recheck their work. If that doesnt help, step up and do the road force balance. If the only change to the truck is the wheels, its pretty safe to assume the wheels (or balance) are at fault. I wouldnt blame the suspension if it was good on the old wheels.

From my expierence, wider tires want to follow the road more. If it on a car or a truck it doesnt matter. if it isnt pulling you off the road, I wouldnt worry about it. its the price you pay for a big tire. If it is a big deal, add the damper. Ive heard people say you dont need one unles youre on 35s or bigger, but Im not for sure.

I carried the tahoe back to the shop and they re-balanced the wheels. The vibration didn't go away. I have been wanting to replace the front shocks anyway, so my next move will be to replace the shocks and add a steering stabalizer. If that doesn't work I will move to pitman and idler arm replacment.
