Hello everyone,
Just recently purchased a CPO 2018 Yukon XL Denali. My family is about to grow to three kids and we travel frequently, so it was time to upgrade.
I've been looking for a Suburban/Yukon for almost a year, finally pulled the trigger. Coming from a CPO 2013 Traverse which has been great for our family up to this point.
Just wanted to share my experience so far. Had 60k when we bought it. Obviously has the 6.2L with the 10-speed. I picked it up while on vacation about 7 hours from home. Dealer offered me $3k less than Carvana did for the Traverse, so decided to spend $200 on a trailer and supplies and towed the Traverse home.
Trailer was 2,210lbs and Traverse is roughly 4,600lbs, so with some extra junk in the Traverse we were basically at 7,000lbs. I had some high expectations with the 6.2L/10-speed combo, and I was impressed how it handled the weight. We hit many grades in the average 3-6% both up and down. The Yukon also had two adults, two children, a dog, and all the luggage to accompany all of us. Yukon sagged upon initial loading, but after a short trip to test connections, the air bags kicked in and helped level the ride out.
Only complaints I had was some fairly decent vibration from the drivetrain (feels like motor mounts) and some exhaust leak type noise from the driver footwell which appears might be related to TSB PIP5570. Going in for an appointment next week to address the issues.
Hope to post nothing but pleasant things in the future! Also an owner of a 2009 G8 GT.
