New blazer vs Chevy Tahoe

I think they favor the Lexus. They look better than the equinox and they’re not a large as the traverse. I’m 6’6” and I sit very comfortably in the front even with the sunroof. Something I cannot say about the Tahoe and suburbans.

Not to get too far off topic, I’m just amazed that GM hasn’t came out with a high performance mid size SUV to compete with the Jeep SRT. GM has swamped the crossover segment with vehicles but haven’t come out with a model for someone wanting hot rod performance but the practicality to be driven year round and haul around kids and groceries. This is precisely why the Jeep SRT does so well, it’s in a league of it’s own. The closest competitors are the German models with a $15k+ price similarly equipped with higher maintenance costs to boot.

Durango competing with the Jeep? Yes and no. The Durango SRT is a stretched out Jeep SRT with three rows instead of two. It’s almost a foot longer and 400+ pounds heavier. Plus FCA markets the Jeep SRT as more upmarket than it’s Durango cousin. As a matter of fact, the Trackhawk has zero SRT logos and the non supercharged 6.4 Jeeps no longer have an SRT logo on the steering wheel. The SRT branding is soon to be specific to the Dodge brand only. My point still stands that the Jeep SRT doesn’t have any real competition unless you go German for way more.

But I think I’d still probably look at the Durango and the Jeep if I was in the market for a midsize fast SUV. Same price point and the exact same 0-60
Times.

I'm with you here. Especially considering GM's ability to share engines and parts across platforms - seems like it would be straightforward to put an LT4 engine into a Tahoe/Yukon, make sure it has an appropriate transmission, work a little on the suspension, and end up with a 650HP full-size SUV that would sell like mad.

It has to have something to do with Cadillac. Something like it would have first dibs on exclusivity for that kind of design, but based on strong Escalade sales none of the dealers say they could sell the high-performance model.

The caddy dealer I stopped by told me they were going to release a high performance version of the Escalade this year. Basically supercharged motor (borrowed from the V series probably)
