My oil pressure and battery sections of my instrument cluster go crazy and are always different every drive. My fuel level and temperature do not. Does this mean that I need a new instrument cluster?

a rebuild perhaps, no reason to fully replace it unless it's been underwater or something crazy, there are usually local guys on craigslist, etc that do them for side money.

Based on the two gauge issues it does look like stepper motor replacement, although the oil pressure could be the sender. Hopefully someone's not already been into the cluster and messed up any circuit board traces.

I redid the stepper motors and replaced the backlighting for a neighbor's Tahoe a few years back. Not difficult if you're familiar with a pencil soldering iron and simple circuit boards.

I've done minimal soldering but nothing with circuit boards.

Oh? I'll have to look into this. I had no idea

Here's one that comes up on CL in Lakeland. Not sure where you are, and I have no personal experience with this person.

Google "2005 tahoe cluster repair" and here are a few hits:
Circuit Board Medics https://circuitboardmedics.com/2003-2006-chevrolet-tahoe-instrument-cluster-repair/
GM Gauge Repair https://www.gmgaugerepair.com/product/2003-to-2006-chevy-tahoe-complete-cluster-rebuild/
Dr Speedometer https://drspeedometer.com/ (I think this is where I bought the stepper motors I used)

Digital Dash Solutions https://www.fixmygauges.com/ Carl will not repair your cluster for you, but you can buy one from him and send yours back to him for a lifetime warranty. This is the one that @OR VietVet and I (and many others) have used. If you don't want to buy a cluster from him, he has a recommended repair site listed: https://usdashworks.com/product-category/repair/

Lots of choices. Read reviews and have an idea of what you want done, and compare.
