Hey NJYukon,

We have seen this issue before, and I apologize you are already experiencing a problem on your Yukon. We deal with this issue on a case-by-case basis, and go from there. The dreaded question: have you had a GM tech diagnose it yet?

Also nice Yukon.

Yeah, I know. One thing always leads to the next, and forums make it worse, as you always find more ideas of what to do next.....

Oh, and thanks Frank.

Nope, I have not taken it in to a GMC dealer yet, as I originally just figured tough for me, as my Yukon is a 2008 and out of warranty (although only 32,000 miles). Only after reading how common this is, and how some with older trucks and three times the miles have been taken care of did I question what can be done, for what is an obvious design flaw. What do you mean diagnose it? I have a cracked dash, what's to diagnose? Or is that just to get my issue open in the system?

Diagnose is just the term we use for the initial service appointment where one of our technicians will evaluate what the root cause of a concern is and determine what components need to be repaired or replaced. We need to be able to hear an assessment from one of our technicians on a proposed repair before moving forward with possible assistance. I would like to set up a case for you regarding you dash, and work through the repair with you and your service advisor. If that sounds like something you’d like to do, PM me your full name, involved dealer, and contact information.

That would be fine, but as of yet I cannot PM, and do not yet have any dealer involved. I will see about going to the dealership down the highway from the dealership where I work.
