New front seats-custom brackets

So I got some new seats but the railings where completely different so.... i had try and make some :uhoh2:

just welded 2 pieces together
scuffed them and spray painted them flat black :waytogo:

I was in a rush that I welded the brackets on while the seat whats still attached and i burned the corner of the center console :sad72:

I'm looking at a set of buckets from a NBS, do you think there would be any safety issues with using a square of say 1/4" steel to go between the old frame rails and the new seat like so?
