My mechanic confirmed that the fuel pump on my tahoe has gone bad. (20% fuel pressure left). Engine will idle roughly and stall at a red light. Getting it replaced tomorrow, but I want to know if it's necessary to also replace the old fuel pump relay along with the new fuel pump? If I don't replace the old relay with a new one, is there a chance that my fuel pump will go bad again? Any replies are appreciated.

I replaced the simply because I went through process of elimination. I had a feeling it was the pump but bought the cheaper easier parts first. One less thing to worry about
