Hey all
My name is Joslyn and I have always had either a suburban, Tahoe, or some other version of them pretty much ever since I started driving so I find customizing them fun as well since I know how to do it pretty well from previous ones.
I currently have a 99 chevy 4x4 suburban classic body, (The older 90s body style for those that are not as generation savy)
I have been looking for sites that deal with vehicles such as these awsome beasts. Honestly I think they are the crem de la crem when it comes to true SUV vehicles especially the escalades witch I am planning on finding me one and yes I know they are a glorifide suburban/tahoe but thats what is great about them they took an already great vehicle and turned it into something even better.
anyways enough about me I am always open to talking and questions, and hope I can get some good info and help from you all as well I do not mind sharing my knowledge I know about some of them, and yea I give my opinion on things from time to time.
so my burban is needing some help right now it just came out of the shop I bought it from my step brother who had pulled and replaced several things on it to include the engine and transmission, bad part is he efed up the wiering all around and neither me nor my father could figure out what was wrong with it and why it wasn't starting, well after 2 years and about 2,500 dollars later I have a running and somewhat drivable suburban still needing to get the bugs and cobwebs out of it, seems to sputter and backfire when trying to get her going from a stop, my father said try a quart of transmission fluid in with the oil so I am going to be trying that on the oil change since it is over full now I am sure that will help it as well to get it at the right level.
other than the engine and transmission the body is very strait no damage really and no clear coat flaking off so good there, It is the gold color and thats something I wanna change, especially since it has a newly rebuilt transmission and a engine with only 60k miles on it I think it will be worth it.
Interior wise I need to get new carpet and the drivers seat has seen better days so I will be seeing about getting that re upolstered, I am in the Houston, Tx area so it is kinda an interesting task trying to find stuff like that to get done, funny part is i know several shops in Colorado that do that as well as carpeting and custom interiors, Here its actually kinda hard to find.
well I plan on being on here more often so hopefully I can figure out some of my problems with the Burban
