What is up fellas? I am new to the whole Tahoe thing. I recently bought a 2011 LT silver tahoe on CK 375's. I have really enjoyed this vehicle the last 2 months. It rides so much better than the lifted Tacoma I traded in. Enjoy coming to this site and see the sweet rides.

Only complaint I have is that the front bumper cover and fender don't line up perfect like the other side (Left to Right). I can push it back in and it is flush but if I drive it it comes back out about a 1/8 of an inch( between the headlight and the fender well where they meet, it will shift over). I have looked behind the fender well liner and pulled the bumper out and I see where it has two circular slots but it mounts to nothing when you slide it back in. I tried to adjust it and it is better than before but not flush like the passengers side. Has anyone had this issue and know how to fix it? I know I can bring it to the dealership but I was thinking it should be an easy fix and DIMS.

the silver is so bright I hope it shows up. If you are standing over the fender looking down, the bumper would make it look like an over bite.

Mmm yeah that's not right ...

Only thing I'm aware of that would do that is either a missing/broken tab or a defective (malformed) bumper. Either way make the dealer fix it because it's defective. Even if you could fix it yourself I would advise against it ... don't give them an excuse to claim that you did it by messing with it.

Btw, if you insist on having a go at it yourself, theres a spacer type thingie that's between the top edges of the bumper and the wheel well and the front fenders. You have to pull the front of the wheel liner out and look underneath if the bumper is screwed through it to the fender properly. Sometimes those spaces break or they forget to line them up right when they attach the bumper resulting in this affect. At least that's the way it is on the hybrid, perhaps someone with a regular Tahoe can confirm this.

That is what I am talking about. The bumper is only tied to the wheel well by the top and bottom screw. I undo the top screw in the wheel well and I was able to pull the top of the bumper out with no problem. I figured it has to tie some other way.

Yeah, but someone with a non-hybrid Tahoe has to chime in and tell you whether that's how your bumper attaches ... it might be that the spacer is only on the hybrid.

I'm sorry Ryan, I just don't know. :(

I would still recommend you taking it to the dealer though.

Here's a drawing of your bumper parts, you might be able to use it to ascertain if yours has anything missing.

I took enough of the wheel well apart to access the area. It has a plate that two screws go to that the bolt is facing up. Next to the bolts are two triangles that line up with the closed end tabs on the bumper. They look like you could push them up and that is what holds it in Place. Tried that and they don't move and are plastic. I didn't want to break them. I ended up fishing a tie wrap through the bumper eye and the slit surrounding the triangle. It tightened the whole area up, big time. I know that ain't the right way but we will see if it works tomorrow. I would still like to know if what is the right way that the bumper is held on. It just seems if the triangles were raised up and for some reason you had to change the bumper, you wouldn't be able to bend them back up again as they would be weak. Hopefully the 10 cent tie wrap fixes it. If not, Off to the dealer.

I have a 2007 Avalanche, a 2011 Tahoe LT and a 2012 Tahoe LT (Just got for my wife). All 3 vehicles have the exact same fitment issue with the bumper. I think its a design feature. As in a prior response, I remove the bumper for HID / Projector install on the 2011 Tahoe and after reinstall, the problem was fixed. After about a month of driving, the bumper was out again, about an 1/8 inch. Oh well. Will just live with it.
