Hello, I'm new to this forum. I just picked up a 1998 Tahoe with 170k miles that I found on Craigslist. After buying it I had my wife drive it home and I followed her. I noticed that the brake lights weren't coming on (one thing I managed to not check when I was looking it over) when she stopped. Every once in a while I would see them flash on, but then would quickly go out. When we got home I messed around a little with the brake pedal and I noticed I could get the lights to come on if I just barely pressed down on the pedal, like an inch or less. Once I pressed it in further they would go out.
It appears that all other lights such as turn signals and driving lights are working properly. I tried searching for this issue on the forum and I didn't find this exact issue, but I did find issues with the brake lights not working at all. It seems the one thing that comes up over and over is the brake light switch. Do you think this could be my problem or is there something else I should look at? Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!
