FNG here....

Just picked up my first Yukon. It's a 2004 SLT, AWD, fully loaded with 78k miles on it :) Quite a step up from my 1995 Roadmaster!

So far...I love it! I do have a few questions though....

1. Sometime when I am turning the steering wheel, it feels like fluid is going through it. Is this normal?

2. The Auto Climate Control never seems to be warm enough. Sometimes it is hot, but even with it set to 80+ degrees, the air under the dash is cool at times. This is even more pronounced when idling.

3. How long should it take for the rear climate control to warm up?

4. Thinking about the JBA exhaust...thoughts?

5. What do you recommend for a handheld tuner?

Thanks in advance for all the help and enjoy the picture (only one I have as it has been raining for 2 days now).

Good looking truck man. Mines a 02, so my climate control is a little different from yours but its works fine. Not sure why yours doesn't. Tuner? You should look into a blackbear tune, its way better than a off the shelf tuner. They're one of the vendors on here.
That Buick Roadmaster sounds like a real beast, post some pics of that thing..

welcome, I have an SLT 2003 Yukon, LOVE it.

The rear air could possibly not getting full activation. Mine is not working like it should, but is servieable.
Does your truck run at 205/210? If not, is it higher or lower? Bad T stat couldbe the problem.
Exhaust, no need to spend alot of cash on cat back, just replace the muffler. These have pretty good exhaust anyway.

Tuner? Click Black Bear link on right...BEST mod i have done to mine, and gained 2 MPG. -------------------------->

Good lookin truck man. I would agree that blackbear is the way to go but if you can't get to em or are die hard for a hand held I recommend either superchips or the predator

at 80 it does feel relatively cool, I assume because moving air 'feels cooler'. I know mine will burn you out if you crank it to 85- 90, which is what I do on cold mornings

The rear air takes roughly the same amount of time as the front to warm up. I usually crank it to [red] in the am until the truck warms up, then set it back to 75 ish.

If you are not getting heat on red though the front is, you probably have a stuck actuator / blend door, I'm sure i ran across instructions on TYF before.

Just picked up a Haynes Manual. Hopefully this will help me with my rear heat issue!

Anyone know what the fluid feeling in the steering could be? I can only really feel it turning left when the engine is warm.

Man, love those roadmasters. I want one soooo bad. I have always loved wagons. Give me a CTS-V sport wagon, I am a happy man.
