you can have it hooked up to switch the camera on when desired, also idatalink should be able to custom program a camera on function for you if you utilize the maestro rr, you can always call them and ask.
Mine has maestro. Haven’t looked into any of that yet. Sounds like I should get busy.

I’m not sure about stock cams, but both my Pioneers let me turn the cam on anytime.

If you have an Android stereo, you don't need any kind of Adapter. Steering wheel controls are resistance-based, and any Android head unit is able to work with this. Just disconnect 2 wires from the BCM, ground of them and connect the other one to KEY1 or KEY2 on your android unit. Audio controls and DIC controls have separate circuits, so no problems with retaining DIC

Agreed. I just put in (yesterday) a nice Pioneer HU with the swc (steering wheel control) module. Bought it from Crutchfield. Paid about $25 more, but it was plug and play. Everything works as it should, and now I have Bluetooth, Apple car play, a backup camera, and a bunch of shit I haven’t even tried out yet! Massive improvement from the factory Bose unit. 14bc328dd0adcb055eb98c9184c6ad80.jpg72d93bb5ff352fb8548d36bd8a3a4b87.jpgac8ed3e3f3264c95596802196e8b700f.jpge1bd37a42f546203b8d0794ed174192d.jpgdb33260cddedbd6caf52d00b9024dc11.jpg48c20bb79cb2227e479a6a4f78804768.jpg

Which Pioneer HU is that? Getting a used Pioneer avic-5201nex from a friend next week and it looks just like yours.

I love Pioneer stuff. I have it in both my trucks.

Me too. Always tried to get Pioneer stuff. My Yukon has a Blaupunkt DD w/ Nav that was in it when I bought it. It’s clean looking, but lacks some features. One I can’t stand is I can’t get it to program the SWC to scroll through radio presets.

Anyone know on the 03-06 years if you can reprogram the onstar button on the steering wheel to a different function. I don’t use onstar and would be nice to have it be answer/hang up call or voice recognition. When I swap in the Pioneer unit I’m going to play around with the pac rp5-gm11 that’s already installed and see if it will let me change that button.
