If you aren't changing the amp I don't think it will have any adverse effect. The output of the amp shouldn't change.

I think it makes the Bose system sound better if the new head unit has some sort of EQ.

Anyone know the specs on the factory BOSE speakers? I was thinking of boosting the power to them a bit by upgrading the HU and the amp.

you'll be better off just replacing the amp and speakers. bose is pretty much designed to work together. if you switch the radio you'll be using the rca's so cleaner signal to the amp.

Personally, I would rip the Bose out, I haven't been too impressed with the Bose system in any of our GM vehicles. But it is your car, so it's up to you. The Bose speakers don't have a high power rating, so I wouldn't put any amp other than the Bose one on them.

I was just curios about their specs. I'm trying to decide on new comps, or take my old Bostons Pros out of my old truck.
