First post here, I find so much help on forums this seemed like the place to start.
Just got a 99 Burb, 4x4. 7.4L
Truck is in pretty good shape, been going thru the small stuff like tires, pitman and idler arms, shocks, and a general deep clean. The interior was filthy, but is coming along nicely.
My first problem that I MUST address is a leaking roof! At least I think it is the roof. The edges of the headliner are wet and drip, water also drips from the rearmost right seat belt that is dangling.
I have the factory roof rack with 6 or 8 feet, two screws each. The plastic on the edges of the feet are pulled away a little.
Is this a common problem? I looked for gaskets for the feet, with no luck. Also read the nuts on these screws sometimes come loose inside the roof, preventing removal.
My thought is to use a real good clear sealer to plug the screw recesses, and surround the feet.
Any thoughts or advise from the forum?
Thanks in advance, Frank
