Well it seems as if my Bose units life is coming to an end, i want some feedback on what kind of decks you guys have used in your rigs and your experience with them. I would prefer a screen that fits right into the original spot but know that will be difficult to find because of the DIN 1 1/2 space. I wouldn't mind a flip out either. I did like the 6 disc changer on my Bose but with new units every thing's moving to AUX, USB etc. which is cool too. Any brands to avoid? Which ones are the best?

thanks guys

Get an 03 and up dash trim piece and use a double din unit. Then the possibilities are greater, you will have more options. I'd get a touch screen DVD player, that way if you wanted to you could expand to other monitors throughout your vehicle.

The full dash piece that goes over the cluster or just the radio part? will it fit right in? I have the 2000 Denali (99 body style)

Hey that sounds cool. What experience have you had with that?

The the HVAC controls fit in there?

That will not work for you then, I thought you had an 01-02 style. I'm sure there are mods to fit a double din into your dash though.

What year is your vehicle? Is it the old body style (obs) or new body style (NBS). If you have the NBS body, the dash trim will fit directly with no mod necessary, and will accept a double din setup.

I have the 2002 interior. Your saying an '03 interior will snap in there?

Sorry for thread jacking.

That's the word on the street, my good man. The only difference is the size of the radio. If you do put a double din in, you have to cut the bracket behind the radio, inside the dash. Not a big job.

Good call replacing that HU. I have a pioneer avh bt3300 and i love it. Just make sure to get all the converters for the door chime, steering wheel controls, etc... can all be found on ebay and not tough to install. Good luck

i have a alpine 136 head unit, powering a 300w amp, 6.5" components up front and coax in rear doors, with a kicker self powered 10" sub out back... sounds awesome at any volume, and has unbelievable clarity...
