Using the info gathered here and stuff I had I got some good bass back.
I used a http://www.jlaudio.com/cp208lg-w3v3-car-audio-microsub-subwoofer-systems-93295 I had removed from my old merc convertable. I had hope to put it in my SL but it didn't play so nice with a retractable hardtop so it just sat in the basement. What a waste. Enter Tahoe, sub fits great behind 2nd row and I left the cable long enough that if I use the 3rd row I can just move it back. Dug out the JL amp that ran it and soldered in some connectors to the factory harness (I HATE cutting that stuff) Even better the fuse panel at the jack location had a nice spade connector for power and the ground I used the lower mounting stud for the Bose amp and power done, signal done.
I need to tune it a bit for the truck but not a bad mod for an hours worth of work using parts I had. My wife just laughs, 46 years old and I still love it loud. Now to upgrade the speakers, maybe a DSP...
