I didn't want to hijack the last guys post so I created a new one, hope no one cares..

So i'm a noobi to the forum and I have a couple questions if anyone cares to add their opinion.

Be gentle I am mechanically stoopid, so I really don't know a whole lot about tire size, and offsets and whatever..

Ok so i have a new 2010 Tahoe LTZ.. After reading through the forum, and looking at what pictures I could find. I think I would like to add a 2.5/1" leveling kit..

So the question is what is my best bet or wheel/tire combo.. I currently have the stock 20"s but would maybe like some All Terrain type tires for winter.. I like to ski, and camp. I don't need anything insane but would like a tough look.. And I do not want to modify or cut anything in the wheel wells.. Also these would not be a full time setup, I would only use it in the winter, and when I go on a camping trip that would require off road.

Also I would like to be able to purchase from tirerack to save on tax and everything is cheaper there anyway as far as I can tell..

Thinking 285/70-17??? not sure though

Thanks for your help
Mike

Your best bet is to run a 285/55R20 with the stock 20's and you might have to trim alittle bit. Im running a BF Goodrich 305/55 R20 with a CCM leveling Kit and I had to trim a good bit. With 285/55R20 you might rub a little bit and may need to trim but im not to sure but there are ppl on this site that are running that combo and it it is a fairly common size. And Alternative is to run a 275/60R 20 which im pretty sure is a 33 x 11 which I have had and it did not rub at all unles under heavy flex. BF Goodrich tires are great and have performed well for me in the past 8 months that i have had them on my Tahoe. I would definitly put another pair on my tahoe again in a heartbeat. The only downside is that they are usually alittle bit more expensive but you get what you pay for in my opinion.
