Howdy: I'm looking to buy a Tahoe with the Z71 package. Would any of you offer your opinions as to which model year is most reliable or "better". I realize "better" is a perspective. Can't afford a 2015 so model years being considered are 2011, 2012 and 2013. My understanding is the Z71 package was not offered in 2014. Thanks y'all. :hmmm2:

2014 has a Z71, I have one. The later in the model cycle, as with any manufacturer, usually the better the vehicle as the manufacturer has had ample time to fix issues. That said its debatable which is a better year, really going to come down to who owned it before and how well they took care of it.

Front dash cracking seems to be a concern as well as the DOD lifters. Those are the two big ticket items.
