Well I guess it is time to introduce myself since I just put a deposit down on an inbound 2022 Summit White Tahoe Z71. I am not new to car forums but I am new to this forum although my first two posts are below:

Need Some Help Deciding on a Color

Well like the title says I am looking for opinions on colors. At the end of the day everyone is going to say "get what you want"... I know. But just looking for everyone's $0.02, aren't we pretty good at that on the forums? Past vehicles I've owned and colors: 1996 GMC Sonoma dark red w/black...

Is the eLSD a "requirement" for Overlanding and Off-roading?

I've been lurking around the forum since late September 2021 when we got my wife out of a 2020 Durango R/T and into a 2021 Shadow Gray Suburban Z71. The Durango R/T was great. Comfortable and very quick, although she did not like it "that" much. I switched to MOPAR in 2015 and I like MOPARs but their cost is going up! I am back to being a Chevy fanboy as we fell in love with the Suburban. I wanted one to drive for myself with 3+ growing car seats and needing the "indoor" space versus a truck bed with a cover. The wife's Suburban is pretty basic and I've actually considered trading it in towards a 2022 Midnight Blue Suburban RST.

I am keeping the inbound Tahoe Z71 pretty basic as well. Summit White with Luxury Package and sun/moon roof. Not a big fan of any of the other colors. No trailer brake, but maybe something I can add later down the road. I don't do a lot of towing. After following this forum and research on the internet I steered away from the air ride suspension. The WK2 and now WL Grand Cherokee, some 4th Gen and 5th Gen RAM trucks, in addition to Land Rover have an air ride height adjustable suspension. I decided to steer away from it, because do I really need it? The GC WK2 had some problems with its air ride requiring some pretty expensive fixes. Staying with the regular suspension means I don't feel as bad if ICON, KING, Bilstein, etc. has a dope off road lift for these Tahoes at some point. Yes I also know that means that I don't have eLSD. Yes a bunch of videos on YouTube, but I feel like I can probably still do what I want to do offroad and I'd be fine. There are a couple of videos of Tahoes off-road and they did okay with the MLSD. It just takes a little different technique. I am hoping to eventually get into some overloading with my family with this Tahoe.

2010 Camaro 2SSRS Red Jewel Tintcoat w/black interior (Built & dyno tuned by BRC Racework's, 450RWHP, 430RWTQ)
2014 Subaru WRX hatch dark blueish purple w/black interior (Bolt ons & dyno tuned, ~320WHP and 380WTQ)
2015 Grand Cherokee Overland Altitude black on black (wife's car)
2020 Dodge Durango white w/black interior, red seats (wife's car)
2015 RAM 1500 Sport black on black (currently driving, full bolt ons, tune, lowered) IG acct: @elvira5.7hemi

I have a possible IG account handle in mind for the Tahoe, TBD... Current backup account and mainly the wife's Suburban is @3row.z71

Summit White is the best color [IMHO] for your inbound z71. You had a lot of nice vehicles in the past.

Welcome. Interesting that you mentioned the air ride on the jeeps and rams. My Mom just went from a 2011 grand Cherokee limited to a 2014 grand Cherokee overland and it has the Quadra lift system. It’s fantastic. I really like it. I couldn’t figure out why it was settling back down every other day or so when I had the setting set to keep it at standard ride height instead of dropping to entry/exit mode, and then I did some searching on some Jeep forums. Turns out the two voss fittings on the tops of the air valves under the hood were leaking like crazy. $43 a piece on Amazon and we got them swapped out before the compressor burned up, and it functions exactly as it should. She did have to replace the rear shocks, but they were only 120 a piece which I thought was pretty reasonable compared to what I spent replacing my Z55 auto ride shocks on my Denali.

Thank you! I had it narrowed down to Satin Steel or Summit White. I saw a used Summit White at a dealer a couple of weeks ago and I was convinced.

Yeah I imagine any system like these will have issues eventually. I just thought it was interesting that we just dealt an issue in the exact system you mentioned and it wasn’t a complicated or expensive fix. Lol. But I also know that not every break down is the same on every vehicle.

Got an update from my salesman via screenshot of their tracking system. Tahoe was picked up from the plant in Arlington, TX on Dec 8 and was in Louisiana yesterday. ETA on 23 Dec.
