I have owned my 99 Chevy Tahoe since 2005. It has run great for the most part with few problems. I think it has about 179k miles on it and I think I am getting to the point of where I will have to start putting money into it to keep it going.
I live in Wesley Chapel, FL, so anyone close would be a great help should I need help learning how to understand things.. I am trying my damnedest to do things myself these days. As I am sure you are all aware, money is tight...
Thing I know about the Tahoe which are not stock.
4" Body Lift (Came upon purchase)
I would prefer to remove the body lift, but don't think Ill ever get there. $$$
Things I have screwed up with the Tahoe... Removed the luggage rack, broke some bolts, then tried to make it better using a drill bit a tad to large... Currently has AC tape over holes and stored inside.
Things I know I need to fix soon. Leaf Springs, think I Flattened them hauling a half an oak tree inside. Probably shocks, as I have not changed them since 129k when I bought it.
Currently painting, and replacing lighting... Need to install new trailer electrical plug which has 4 pin and seven pin. Just haven't started on it yet.
So, How are you?
I am also a prepper, and this is my BOV... Dunno how that is taken here. Hopefully not to bad... Don't worry, I'll keep prepping stuff to prepper forums.
Side Note: I recently purchased a M101A1 Military Trailer. If anyone has any ideas to level the vehicle to trailer it would be helpful as well.
