07 Yukon Denali car swap - so my question is what all will I need to carb swap my 6.2 and what will I need to make sure my trans shifts correct?

The carb I got for the swap is an efi injected 4 barrel with a sump pump

With a carb setup I can imagine it will be easier to add boosted applications with minimal tuning efforts

yeah, that's not really a carb.

you got the sniper system?

usually guys would go with a holley system of some sort. they should offer something with tranny control and replace the dash gauge cluster with their monitor setup.

basically gut the truck of factory wiring, install all aftermarket harness for engine, trans and dash. try to leave enough chassis harness for headlights and stuff.

Fitech are garbage systems. I've heard so many horror stories on different C10 and T/A forums. Way more bad stories than good. If you really want to EFI Swap look into Aces or a Holley. The newer Holley systems fixed a lot of the problems you hear about their EFI Setups.

But to answer your question about the transmission. Regardless of Company all of them offer some sort of electronic transmission module.

I also wouldn't say its easier to tune for boost. Both systems has it pros and cons. You're going to need a laptop to tune on either system so I dont know why you'd want to complicate it with a EFI Carb System when LS already have an EFI system

I have not even heard of fi tech. so I got nothing.


what is your end goal? is this a daily, a full out race car. turbo, supercharger? keep 4x4?

the big thing I try to tell people is none of this is as cheap as you think it's going to be. so may projects end up parked in a garage for years because of under estimating how hard and how much it costs to do what we see made to look easy

if you can find a good rep tuning shop near by, just about anything can be done short of fully race with the stock ecm and hptuners. the learning curve is very steep thou. if you're going aftermarket, something like a holley system would be easier to tune yourself and nice as long as you're good with their dash and the cost of it all.

It is all a matter of personal choice, but I supercharged my 07 Yukon XL Denali, and I am absolutely thrilled with it.
