I just bought mine for the same reason. I needed to tow about 5000lbs for work but also wanted it to be family friendly. I have the 6.2 Denali and it tows great. I was averaging about 18mpg highway without towing but after a tune I'm in the mid 19's. Hopefully the exhaust I have coming (which is quieter than stock) should put me in to the 20's. It comes with a factory transmission cooler and the wiring for a brake controler ( I bought the controler for $80 and installed it myself). The stock 6 speed auto and axle ratio is in my opinion perfect, but I may put a better trans cooler. I can't answer for the smaller engines, but I know the 07 Denali was the right combo for me. My last trip was with a 16' dual axle enclose and a comined weight of 4800lbs. I drove from NJ to Atlanta round trip and aside from slightly higher trans temps than I am comfortable with, it went great.

Does this Denali AWD Yukon my dealer has come with the HD trailering package that I'd need to tow my boat?

Also, whats a fair price before TTL, its got quite a few amenities. The dealer has it listed at 54k before TTL, I'm thinking 48+TTL?

Thanks.

Nice! Got any extra ballast? I assume towing my boat should be fine with a Yukon then huh?

Yeah man a nali will pull it great! a 5.3 will pull it just fine too! My truck EATS gas when I pull but I like to keep it rolling 75 - 80 most of the way.

My boat has the ballast system, setsounds, perfect pass, LED interior kit (a must have), and fold in racks.

I hope you get the denali! Tahoes are kickass too! Good luck!

Nice, I assume you meant to type wet sounds, how do you like them? I just have the stock tower speaks..

Since the denali seems to have the HD tow package integrated, do you know if the Tahoes need the HD trailering package, or will it do okay without it (with the stock 3.08 axle)?

Thanks.

No comparison on 5.3 VS the 6.2. My 2wd '07 5.3 LTZ is a sled compared to the '09 LTZ 4X4 with 6.2 6-speed. It also has the advantage of being a true 4X4 with 2wd and low range over a Denali or Escalade, but that's no longer an option on any of them (2009 was the only year for a 6.2 4X4 Tahoe). You don't have a choice of axle ratios if you get the 6.2 in any of them either. I would avoid a 5.3 with 3.08 gears for towing. A 5.3 would automatically have 3.42's with the HD trailering option.
